Connections: Small Tapestry International (biennal) - 2011
The American Tapestry Alliance is a not-for-profit, member-supported organization seeking to exhibit the best of contemporary tapestry. Since 1986 ATA has sponsored a biennial, juried exhibition, the American Tapestry Biennial, and it now announces the first in a series of juried small tapestry exhibitions: "Connections: Small Tapestry International."
ATA invites all tapestry artists to expand their horizons by shrinking dimensions, to connect technique and concept in a body of new and intimate work. As wall sized tapestries command a wall, these pieces, individually and collectively, will catch the eye, invite us in, and connect us as we share the unexpected. Because the goal is not merely to rescale large work, but to explore the boundaries of size, the exhibition will challenge preconceived ideas of tapestry, unfolding the potential of small scale work as it explores the personal and the universal.
Deadline: November 30th, 2010 (Receive)

6th International Biennial of Textile Art
The 6th International Biennial of Textile Art will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, organized by the World Textile Art Organization (WTA).

WTA is a non-profit organization, founded in 1997, with headquarters in Miami, USA, that has already organized four Biennial Exhibitions in Contemporary Textile Art, both in the United States and in different countries in Latin America with the participation of international artists and juries.

Curatorial concept : The 6th International Biennial of Textile Art places its attention on those artists who choose to express themselves through fibers and weaving , resignifying through their work the concept of Textile Art, by taking away all boundaries and making it explode into many meanings and connotations.
Overstepping boundaries and combining different disciplines, those artists participating in the 6th International Biennial of Textile Art start from the mere fibers to merge into new technologies, venturing to follow new lines of investigation, fusing their quests and challenging categorizations but keeping the soul of textile materials as the integrating element.
