The contest will be held on March as a way of making reference to the month in which Astor Piazzolla, the famous composer, was born, and because it coincides with the 50th aniversary of his song Adiós Nonino.

2nd Animalife foundation ex-libris salon Santa Rosa - La Pampa - Argentina

Topic development :
Each artist will be able to participate with a maximun number of 3 works, of which he must send 2 copies of each, signed, unframed and uncovered. At the back of each of these Works, the following data must be writen in pencil: realization year, technique used, artist's full name, address, and e-mail address.
Techniques of traditional graphics including serigraphy and computer design will be admitted. Drawings or photocopies will not be accepted.
The Ex - Libris format will not be bigger than 13 x 13 cms. And the paper measure will not exceed 20 x 15 cms.
The image related to the topic must be accompanied by the slogan "Ex Libris Fundación Vidanimal".
The Works will not be returned and will become part of the foundation belongings. They could be used to encourage awareness and to forecast the foundation labor in future exhibitions, publications and any other kind of presentations.
The sealed date will be considered. The Works must be sent to : Fundación Vidanimal   M. Duarte 608    CP 6300, Santa Rosa   La Pampa  Argentina. The exhibition will take place at the Art Museum in Santa Rosa, La Pampa ,
Argentina on a date to be designated, being the Works also shown in the foundation web page.

The winners of the formers competition  can been seen on www.fisae.org
The computer, as an artist's creative tool, is steadily gaining ground. Images made using this technique however is sometimes considered of a lesser artistic and printing quality than that of traditionally-made graphic art prints, particularly in the small-format applied arts field of ex-libris. This competition is organised to give artists the possibility to show that digital technology can be used as brilliantly as the burin or engraving needle to produce 'art jewels on paper'. Rules :  

I. The competitor will send not more than 3 works; two prints of each work is required.  

II. The topic of the competition is : to advise

III. The ex-libris will not exceed 8×10cm. 

IV. The words  "EX LIBRIS" (which means 'from the books of...) followed by the name of the person or institution for which it was made must be included in the works.  

V. There is no restriction as to the techniques or materials used, but they must be original graphics.

VI. The works must not be mounted, and the application form should be lightly glued on the back of the prints. 

VII. The works should be signed and numbered by the artist according to national rules. Also, the technical symbol and year of creation must be indicated.

VIII. Works which receive awards will be published in a catalogue and compact disk. Sending of works for the competition implies acceptance of the rules.

IX. Participants whose work is published in the catalogue will receive a prize and a copy of the catalogue from the organizers.

Concours de gravure : l' art et le vin

Exposition du 29 aout au 13 septembre 2009, à la galerie Eva Doublet à St Georges du Bois (17)

- Concours organisé par la Galerie Eva Doublet - parrainé par le Château La Couronne en Montagne Saint Emilion.

L’objectif  du concours est de promouvoir, valoriser et encourager les artistes graveurs contemporains en faisant connaître auprès du plus grand nombre les différentes expressions créatives de leur art.

Le thème de ce concours porte sur « l’Art et le Vin », deux univers qui sont régulièrement associés pour la plus grande joie des épicuriens. L’Art et le Vin « servent au rapprochement des peuples » (Goethe) et sont « les joies supérieures des hommes libres » (Aristote). 

Ce concours permettra de sélectionner 15 artistes qui seront retenus pour une exposition collective qui aura lieu à la Galerie Eva Doublet.

V. International competition for Ex-Libris
Rules :

1. Lyuben Karavelov Regional Library of Ruse is organizing an international competition for ex libris.

2. The ex librises should be made last two years (2008-2009). The maximum size should be 13 to 13 cm.

3. Any graphic techniques that allow total printing can be used (except using copier).

4. The artists can participate with up to 3 printings only.

5. Four copies, the address and e-mail of the participant must be sent by the 22nd May 2010 to the following address:

The sent works become a possession of Lyuben Karavelov Regional library - Ruse and will be a part of The Graphic Room at the library web site www.librousse.bg.

6. The following awards will be given : - The big prize - 250 EUR.- The Lions Club Rousse District130 Bulgaria prize.
The jury has the right not to give all the announced prizes if it estimates that's the proper decision.

7. The awards will be judged by a blue-ribbon Jury at an open meeting presented by local and national mass media. The selected works will be exposed in The Graphic Room of the library in June 2010.

VIth  International Printmaking Biennal  by "Contratalla" art Galery

The artist freely chooses the subject and the technique used for the accomplishment of the print for either the printmaking prize or the special prize.

The total size of the paper may not exceed 56x38 cm. Of this, the image may occupy as much as the artist desires.

For the Ex-Libris (bookplate)the subject must be related to the book, the paper’s maximum size will be 19x14 cm. The technique is open.

Remo Palmirani Prize - 4th Edition

The Ex Libris Mediterraneo Museum of Ortona (Chieti, Italy), in cooperation with “Progetti Farnesiani” and the heirs of Remo Palmirani, has instituted the “Remo Palmirani Prize”.
The “Ex Libris Museum”, the “Italo Zetti” Foundation and the “Solstizio d’Estate” Association are also taking part in the initiative.
The competition is open to all artists. Participants are not requested to realize any new ex libris. They are allowed to take part with an already submitted ex libris, provided that it displays the name of the owner or the institution.

Theme : Medicine in all its facets.

Artists can take part with two ex libris maximum. All techniques are allowed with the exception of drawings, photocopies and photographs.

3rd International Printmaking Juried Exhibit : Prints for Peace 09  Monterrey, NL México

The Art/Human Development Project invites all Printmaking Artists to participate in the Second International Printmaking Exhibit; Prints for Peace '09 in Monterrey NL México.

All prints that have the required specifications will be exhibited in September and October 2009.

A selection of 40 prints chosen by a jury will be displayed on the invitation and poster. The first prize jury award is the opportunity of a solo exhibit in 2010. The second prize jury award is the opportunity to participate in the Second International Printmaking Collective in 2010
