9th Lessedra World art Print annual Mini Print 2010 - Aims and Tasks
An international print annual with the premise that no art form has broader implications in contemporary society than that of the print. The aim is to gather and exhibit contemporary art print works from all over the world and to contribute to the contacts and the exchange between artists, art lovers and collectors and to stimulate the research into paper, inks, and other materials used in printmaking.

FEBRUARY
International competition for ex libris
Ljuben Karavelov Regional Library of Ruse is organizing an international competition for ex libris.
This
year the traditional competition is titled "Ex Music" - Ruse 2010 and is devoted
to the 50 th International festival "March Music Days" - Ruse 2010

The text "Ex Music" should be included in that sign. But it may also include other signs, words, letters and texts as well as the name of the owner.
The maximum size should be 13 to 13 cm. Any graphic techniques that allow total printing can be used (except using copier).
The
artists can participate with up to 3 printings only.
Four copies, the address and e-mail of the participant must be sent by the 22nd

The sent works become a possession of Lyuben Karavelov Regional library - Ruse and will be a part of The Graphic Room at the library web site www.librousse.bg.

following awards will be given : " The big prize -" The Lions Club Rousse
District130 Bulgaria prize.
The jury has the right not to give all the announced prizes if it estimates
that's the proper decision.
To every
prize will be added an honorary diploma for the three sections of printing.
The awards will be judged by a blue-ribbon Jury at an open meeting presented by
local and national mass media.
The
selected works will be exposed in The Graphic Room of the library in March 2010.
Every selected participant will receive a free catalogue.

VIIth International Printmaking Biennal by "Contratalla" art Galery (biennial)
Deadline : February 1st 2010
The artist freely chooses the subject and the technique used for the accomplishment of the print for either the printmaking prize or the special prize.
The total size of the paper may not exceed 56x38 cm. Of this, the image may occupy as much as the artist desires.
For the Ex-Libris (bookplate)the subject must be related to the book, the paper’s maximum size will be 19x14 cm. The technique is open.

International Mini Print Kiev
Open to all artists,
printing techniques and tendencies.
Each artist should submit not more than five prints; each print must be in 2
copies. Each engraving will be signed by the artist on the front side and will
include the classic details: copy, title, and signature.
On the back of the engravings will be written in pencil : Firs name Surname-Address-Country and nationality-Date of birth-Title, year-Technique-Size-e-mail
The work must not be bigger than 15x15 cm, and the paper not bigger then 20x20 cm
The signed works should be sent by registered air-mail as Printed Matter in a simple packet, without glass, frame or passe-partout, declaring "NO COMMERCIAL VALUE",

"Curriculum Vitae" should
accompany the works, including name, date and place of birth of the artist,
address, e -mail . A Jury will select the works to be exhibited. The names of
the accepted artists will be announce during the month of March.The exhibition
in Kiev will take place in National Ukrainian Academy of Fine Arts and
Architecture
Accepted works will also be exhibited in other places still
undetermined.Organizers reserve the right to reproduce and exhibit any work
accepted, for promotional or cultural purposes.
Although all works will be handled with maximum care, organizers will assume no
responsibility for any damage or loss that may occur in posted way.
Entries will not be returned. It becomes property of the organizers and remains
at their disposal with a right to free of charge distribution.
Participation in the exhibition implies the acceptance of the above conditions.

International CGD (Computer Generated Design) Ex-libris Competition 2010
The computer, as an artist's creative tool, is steadily gaining ground. Images
made using this technique however is sometimes considered of a lesser artistic
and printing quality than that of traditionally-made graphic art prints,
particularly in the small-format applied arts field of ex-libris. This
competition is organised to give artists the possibility to show that digital
technology can be used as brilliantly as the burin or engraving needle to
produce 'art jewels on paper'. It will also enable them to demonstrate how
classical techniques can be brought in to support digital technology.

Remo Palmirani Prize
The Ex Libris Mediterraneo
Museum of Ortona (Chieti, Italy), in cooperation with “Progetti Farnesiani” and
the heirs of Remo Palmirani, has instituted the “Remo Palmirani Prize”.
The “Ex Libris Museum”, the “Italo Zetti” Foundation and the
“Solstizio d’Estate” Association are also taking part in the initiative.
The competition is open to all artists. Participants are not
requested to realize any new ex libris. They are allowed to take part with an
already submitted ex libris, provided that it displays the name of the owner or
the institution.

Artists can take part with two ex libris maximum. All techniques are allowed with the exception of drawings, photocopies and photographs.

Prix GRAV'X 2011
Tous les 2 ans la Fondation GRAViX organise, sous l’égide de la Fondation de France, la remise d’un prix destiné aux jeunes graveurs ; il a pour objet d’encourager l’estampe contemporaine et de faire connaître les différentes techniques de l’estampe.
La décision du jury et l’exposition qui suivra auront lieu au cours du deuxième trimestre de l’année du concours.
Le concours se déroule en deux temps : lors d’une première étape, 10 candidats seront sélectionnés pour une exposition collective qui aura lieu au moment de la remise du prix à la Galerie Michèle Broutta. Dans un deuxième temps, le jury choisira parmi ces dix le lauréat ou les lauréats.
